You may have noticed that our Teamspeak 3, Team Fortress 2 and Minecraft server have been offline. According to our hosting company, they contacted the data center and requested to have their unused server box shut off. However, the data center located in London, England cancelled the wrong server box which had all our servers as well as other customer servers online. They made a "derp". Our host has submitted a ticket and are attempting to recover our data. However, we did create back-ups of all our servers and it is not an issue for us to bring everything back online once the data center turns the server box back on.
In the mean time, you will begin to see quite a few improvements. Over the next week, we will be working on our SA-MP server as well as our Minecraft server. For SA-MP, we are still working on the hydra races as well as working on a few events. And yes, we are working on stabilizing our SA-MP server as best as possible with the understanding that SA-MP is not a stable client or server. On our Minecraft server, we will changing the spawn point away from our major city in an attempt to encourage more building and resource gathering. We want players to experience Minecraft for what it is and not just a pre-built area. To put the update simply, you will start out as a nomad wandering, building shelters and gathering resources as you journey to the major cities. And last, but not least, we will be having a Team Fortress 2 night! Team Fortress 2 is a download free-to-play game via Steam and we hope everyone will join us for the event. More information will be provided.
As mentioned in a previous news post, we will be phasing out our ban appeals and dealing with any type of server bans via e-mail. We promise a smooth transition! We will also be launching our application page which will allow you to submit an application to become a volunteer administrator. You read that right, AboveUltimate will be accepting applications for review!
